The Gift of the Ladies - Self Care

One of my favorite parts of going to the gym is using the steam room when I am finished.  Today I had to marvel at two women who were also in the steam room.   I am sure they were completely unaware of the impact they had on me.
One woman had brought with her essential oils to place on the steamer so we could all benefit, which was heavenly, and then she proceeded to place a mud mask on her face.  The other was gracefully doing her stretching while in the warmth of the steam.  They were modeling self care with grace and ease.
Self care is one of the things that was always on the bottom of my list.  I am a busy entrepreneur with a business to build and people to serve.  It took me many years before I became painfully aware of the importance of caring for myself along the way.
Now self care is built right into the plan for my business.   I was not even aware that it was possible to do such a thing.  You see I had the model that building a business was hard and that sacrificing everything was what was required to succeed.
Here is what I know, creating a plan is one of the most liberating activities you can do in your business.  It allows for success and self care, for results and creative time.  Knowing step by step what to focus on creates an amazing amount of freedom to be fully present in the activity that I am working on in the moment.
Are you ready to explore this thing called planning?  Would your life be improved with more self care?  How would it affect your family life, your ability to do your work or how you were able to give to others? For those that know that it is truly time to learn the skill of planning contact me and let's see if we are a good fit.

Something New!

We have all heard the saying that to get something new you have to do something new. Sounds easy right? The truth is statistically most of us will not be able to achieve the change on our own. Especially women, we like to do things in community.

It is for this reason that so many of us hire a coach. An outside set of eyes and ears, a different set of life experiences, an expertise in an area we don’t have yet are what a coach can bring to the table for us.

A coach is someone who teaches you how to fish so eventually you can do these new things on your own with confidence and creativity. I am truly looking forward to working with my coach again this year. Knowing that I have someone in my corner with me, asking me questions and planting new seeds so that I can truly achieve the goals that I have for 2014 is exciting.

Hope is what brings the excitement. Visualizing what it is I am creating, how I will be of service to others, how my loved ones will benefit, how my team will benefit keeps the excitement alive. Doing new things is what will bring it all about.

It is the doing new things that is where most of us get tripped up. We are not aware that either we aren’t doing them or that we are limited in how we are doing them. If we could do this on our own we would already have it done.

What new things are you hoping for in 2014? Leave me a comment I would love to hear!

Burn the Ships!

Do you remember the story about the captain who sent all his men into shore to do battle and once the last boat had left for shore he order the ships to be burned, cutting off any chance for retreat?  Well that is what commitment looks like.  It looks like burning the ships.  It’s truly cutting off any possibility of turning back.  It’s no longer giving yourself an option of choosing out.

It’s New Years – and Happy New Year if I haven’t had the chance to share that wish with you.  Traditionally New Years has become this time when we start with a fresh slate and we declare resolutions for new things we want to do and achieve in this up coming year.

Then in almost a joking like manner we laugh and say but all those resolutions will be broken by February.  What if this year could be different for you?  What if you burned your ships?

Imagine what your life would be like at the end of 2014 if you actually achieved the dreams and goals and resolutions you are setting right now!  You see if you truly believe that those goals are good and right for you; that achieving them will make your life, your loved ones lives and the world better then why would you allow yourself a way out.

Typically it is fear, or you bump up against an obstacle or worse yet you unconsciously go back to old habits and now your plan is thrown out the window.  I know that is what I did for years.  I also know the internal strife it caused when my actions and my dreams did not match up.

I am so truly excited about this year.  I have a solid plan to work from every day, I have a coach to guide me through the things in the past I have not been able to get past myself, I have an amazing team to work with and a loving and supporting family.

If you are ready for this year to be different financially then do yourself a favor, burn the ships and give me a call so we can create a plan for you that will knock this year out of the park!
